Gone fishing?

Actually I mean phishing!

What is phishing?
Phishing is “attempting to acquire information (and sometimes, indirectly, money) such as usernames, passwords, and credit card details by masquerading as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication.” (from Wikipedia)Tips to remember:

How can you report a spam or phishing e-mail?

  1. Create a new e-mail.

  2. Drag the spam or phishing message into the new e-mail message you just created.

  3. Address the new e-mail message to either the SPAM REPORT* or PHISHING REPORT* address found in the ECU Exchange directory.

An interesting conversation . . .

I often blog about Lecture Capture and usually from the instructor view but just this morning had an interesting conversation with a student.  Those of you who record your class lectures  know that I monitor the start of all recordings and I have a portal from which I can view all classrooms in this building equipped with mediasite systems.  I often joke that I can now get a job as a security officer who monitors cameras at different locations!

I was showing this student the portal and talking about what was being done and to quote this student “how great would that be to go back and listen again to a lecture. . .especially when studying”.  Did you know that almost every room in this building has lecture capture capablity?  There is also desktop capability with Tegrity and I will be testing Mediasite’s desktop capture soon.  Just maybe there is something to this lecture capture model!
