Aging and Adult Language Disorders Lab

The Aging and Adult Language Disorders Laboratory is concerned with the interaction between cognitive functions, such as memory, attention and executive functions, and language processing abilities in both healthy aging adults as well as people with neurogenic communicative disorders.

Aphasia

“Aphasia is an acquired communication disorder that impairs a person’s ability to process language, but does not affect intelligence. Aphasia impairs the ability to speak and understand others, and most people with aphasia experience difficulty reading and writing,” according to the National Aphasia Association.
