3/8/2012 Planned Downtime on 3/11/2012.  Blackboard will be down during our weekly scheduled  maintenance window this coming Sunday from 7am-noon.

2/3/12 – Quizzes freezing up in Blackboard

Problem: A student attempts to take an exam and the screen is frozen (unclickable).
Solution: We have narrowed this down to the use of an unsupported browser, Firefox 3.5.  If the student users a supported browser this issue will resolve itself.  Here is the link to all of the supported browsers in Bb 9.1 .

Blackboard outage this morning

When: Tuesday, February 2

 ITCS would like to inform campus that Blackboard experienced an outage this morning that lasted from 10:02am till 10:35am.  The service has been restored and is now working.

We have a planned downtime this coming Sunday during our regular maintenance window (2/5/12) from 8:00am – 8:15am.

If your students report problems opening a PDF file in your course, they may be using a Mac.  They likely get a message that there is a missing plugin, although Mac computers have built-in PDF readers. (It is not a Blackboard issue, but rather how Mac and web browsers work with the PDF file.) The work-around: Ask students to Control+Click>Save Link As and save it to their computers. They should have no trouble opening it that way.

Course copies and collapses are processing at a near normal turn-around at this point. Remember, you can do your own course copies, but we need to do the collapses. See the Faculty Support blog page for instructions on doing your own course copies.

  • Due to the high request numbers please expect a 24-36 hour turn around on all course copy and course collapse requests.
  • The ” Tegrity Classes” link you see in your course navigation will disappear this weekend.
