What’s happening!

It is an exciting time to be a Pirate in the club sport program! We continue to grow and succeed on and off the court/field. Recently we had 8 Men’s Rugby players selected to play in the All-Star tournament, with Justin Bourgeois being nominated as captain. Women’s Soccer just beat in state rival NC State, Equestrian just finished hosting an IHSA at our barn in Vanceboro, NC and Men and Women’s lacrosse just finished hosting the 5th annual Pirate Invitational LaX tournament. These are just a few events that happened in one weekend! For more detailed information and results feel free to browse our website!

Inside Gray’s Anatomy-

Welcome to the first post on our new blog- I never could have dreamed where today’s social media is now taking us, as we move forward into another year. Things have come a long way from when I took over this program 1996 with only 12 clubs. Here we are now, almost 15 years later- 40 Clubs strong and rapidly growing. It is hard to imagine that we used to play Rugby outside Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium (currently the Gold Parking Lot for ECU football games, beside the railroad tracks) and now- 50 acres, 358 trees, 350 shrubs, and 728 daylilies later we have a beautiful complex in which all our club sports and Campus recreation & Wellness programs can utilize to help the students of East Carolina become physical active and develop lifelong skills. As we move forward into the next generation of club sports and things change and develop we will not forget why and who we are here for: the students. We thank you, and hope that you will continue to help us mature as a program!
