Feb 18, 2015: Faculty/Staff Professional Development: Copyright and Fair Use at Speight Building

This workshop will address copyright regulations and fair use guidelines including specific issues that affect K12 teachers and faculty in higher education today. Searching for and using Creative Commons licensed materials and Joyner Library’s copyright resources will also be covered. The session will close with an open discussion of current faculty concerns and issues which may include the use of streaming video and images, posting resources in Blackboard, the digital scanning of materials and author’s rights.

When you say “Google” most people think of searching the internet for information, but Google has gone way beyond that and created tools to help people collaborate and disseminate information.

This workshop will look at Google Chrome’s apps and extensions. It will dive into Google drive and all that it offers for collaboration, storage and its free office software. This is a great starting point for those who want to see what Google has to offer and how it is being used by K-12 schools and other to further collaboration.
