It’s still the “dumbest” thing he has ever done, Will Privette insists, but the N.C. State student who stormed the court in his wheelchair after the Wolfpack’s win over No. 1 Duke on Saturday has enjoyed the whirlwind of attention he has gotten since.

Privette and N.C. State star C.J. Leslie were on NBC’s “Today” show on Tuesday morning, re-telling their story from the wild post-game celebration after the Wolfpack’s win over Duke.

As soon as the clock hit all zeroes on Saturday, Privette rolled out to midcourt and got knocked out of his wheelchair. Leslie, who scored 25 points in the game, picked up Privette and the two celebrated in the mob before Privette was able to get back to his chair.

“I was originally just going to put him back in his chair,” Leslie said during the “Today” segment. “But when he got in my arms, he started cheering, so I was like, ‘Wow,’ so I just kept cheering with him. It was about a good 3 or 4 minutes where he was in my arms, and we started cheering together.”

Privette said Sunday all the attention, started when ESPN’s Dick Vitale expressed concern during the broadcast for Privette, was crazy. He upgraded the past three days to “insane” on Monday.

The stint on the “Today” show was one of 17 TV or radio interviews Privette, a senior from Zebulon, has given since the video clip of the celebration when viral on the Internet. He has also been featured on ESPNU and ESPN’s web site, Yahoo! Sports, Barstool Sports and the Huffington Post. On Twitter (@Thrill21), he has picked up more than 1,400 followers since Friday.
