An ECU football championship ring stolen about four years ago resurfaced after it was sold to a local pawn shop at the end of last year.

Kemory Kenneth Mann, who is listed as a senior offensive lineman on ECU’s football roster, reported that his 2008 Conference USA Championship ring valued at $200 was stolen between April 30, 2009, and June 15, 2009, from his residence on the 1100 block of Brownlea Drive.

Pitt County sheriff’s deputies regularly check items sold at pawn shops in the county and checked at Trade It, 105 Greenville Blvd., on Monday, according to sheriff’s office spokesperson Christy Wallace.

Wallace said the deputy on duty noticed the ring and discovered it was reported stolen.

Deputies are looking into the person who sold the ring as a potential suspect.

The sheriff’s office continues to investigate this case
