Schedule of events:
3:30 p.m., today, Mendenhall Student Center – The Tuscarora Nation Today: Demonstration of traditional crafts by Tuscarora delegates and discussion of Tuscarora language and culture.
7 p.m., tonight in Hendrix Theatre, Lecture, “The Tuscarora War: Trade, Land and Power,” presented by Daniel Richter, University of Pennsylvania. Musical prelude by the Iroquois Indian Band.
9 a.m. – 4 p.m., Friday, Mendenhall Student Center – Seminars on Tuscarora homeland and language, the archaeology and architecture of the Nooherooka Fort, the battle map attributed to the South Carolina commander of the assault Colonel James Moore.
10 a.m., Saturday, Greene County (at the N.C. 58 intersection with Nooherooka Road) – Dedication of a monument, designed and created by Hanna Jubran, ECU sculpture professor. Three Tuscarora chiefs will help dedicate the monument.
