The seventh annual PirateFest was held this weekend in Greenville. The annual outdoor event offered food, art and entertainment. The blend of old and new festivities celebrated eastern North Carolina’s rich pirate history, from Blackbeard to the Pirates of East Carolina University.

Various Pirate groups roamed through the festival, sharing their artistry in song, storytelling, and swordplay and dress. Also on the Town Common was the International Ports O’Call, music, food and attractions from nations from around the world. Performances were held from noon to 5 p.m.
