Dr. Shannon Longshore and Dr. Konstantinos Spaniolas have joined the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University and its group medical practice, ECU Physicians.

Longshore joined the Department of Surgery as an assistant professor specializing in pediatric surgery. She has a medical degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and completed residency training in surgery at the University of California, Davis.

Longshore also completed a fellowship in pediatric surgery at Loma Linda Children’s Hospital in California.

She is board-certified in general surgery. Her clinical and research interests are pediatric trauma treatment and prevention and neonatal surgery.

Longshore sees patients at the ECU Pediatric Outpatient Center at 600 Moye Blvd.

Spaniolas joined the Department of Surgery as an assistant professor specializing in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery. He has a medical degree from the University of Athens School of Medicine in Greece. He completed a research fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School in Boston and residency training in general surgery at the University of Rochester Medical Center in New York.

Spaniolas completed a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H.

Spaniolas is certified by the American Board of Surgery. His clinical and research interests include weight-loss surgery and acid-reflux disease. He sees patients at the ECU outpatient surgery clinic at 517 Moye Blvd.
