Welcome to the HI–PACE study webpage. HI-PACE is a research study at East Carolina University (ECU) looking at how exercise affects health in African Americans. The study involves 6 months of on site exercise training at ECU as well as several study visits.
We are now enrolling participants for the HI-PACE study.
To be eligible for the HI-PACE study, you need to be an African American adult between the ages of 35-65 years old, not currently participating in an exercise or weight loss program, body mass index between 30-45, not type 1 or type 2 diabetic and have not had a previous heart attack or stroke.
