Congratulations Gera Miles!!

Congratulations to Gera Miles on another successful GAME P.L.A.Y event! The department was a co-sponsor of this event, loaning technology, and Gera’s efforts are really making a difference for kids in the community. See Gera’s report below as well as the photos attached. Go English!

I would like to think the English Department for their technological donations for the 3rd GAMEP.L.A.Y (Game Police, Life, and Youth) event that was held on Tuesday, March 13th at the Boys & Girls Club in Farmville.   Along with the Farmville Police Department and a few other law enforcement agents from the surrounding area, there were about 135 children that attended the event.
GAMEP.L.A.Y is a Gaming Outreach Initiative that builds trust between children/teens by having them play cooperative games with one another.  The most important part of the event is the breakout session where the youth and officers get together to talk about local or national events that concern them.
Below is a link to the WCTI Channel 12 coverage of GAMEP.L.A.Y.  Along with the English department, our sponsors also included Food Lion, GameStop, Insomnia Cookies, Pepsi, and Highway 55!   Again, thank you for your support!
Sincerely,
Gera Miles
