    1032 Bate Bldg. Carlie Sitzman, a professional German to English translator who currently lives in Greenville will speak about her experiences in building a career as a professional translator in Germany and the U.S.

    Lecture: Jill Twark

    Dr. Jill Twark will present her most recent research on two popular German rock groups, entitled “Die Toten Hosen and Rammstein: German Rock Goes Global for Social Justice” This research was conducted as part of a co-authored chapter for a book project she is co-editing with Axel Hildebrandt entitled Social Justice in Contemporary German Culture.

  • October 24, 2013 - Dia de los Muertos

    Dia de los Muertos

    The Student Activities Board is sponsoring an Air Dry Clay event in the Social Rooms of the Mendenhall Student Center. This year the event is themed Dia de Los Muertos and we will have Latin music, a short presentation about Dia de Los Muertos and skull molds for students who dont want to create something entirely from scratch.

  • October 27, 2013 - Spring Awakening

    Spring Awakening

    The Department of Student Involvement and Leadership and ECU's Ledonia Wright Cultural Center have funded us to take up to 40 ECU students to see
    the 3 p.m. performance of "Spring Awakening" at the Raleigh Little Theatre on Sunday, 27 October. Tell your friends and roommates (students don't have to be German students--all are welcome).
    More details are forthcoming in a special announcement early this week. In the meantime, contact Prof. Smith (smithdav@ecu.edu) with any questions.
    "Spring Awakening" is a musical based on Frank Wedekind's play FRÜHLINGS ERWACHEN
