PLEASE SIGN UP WITH PROF. SMITH FOR THIS TRIP as soon as possible so he can get an accurate count of who is going. Email him or call 328-5524.
We’ll meet at ECU at 12:15 p.m. (exact location forthcoming) and travel by ECU bus to Raleigh Little Theatre.
We’ll be back at ECU by 9 p.m. at latest.
What you’ll need: just $5 per ticket (a savings of $22/ticket) and some money for dinner.*
*Students with financial need should talk to Prof. Smith because there is funding to pay for your ticket.
Why should you attend? Besides earning cultural outreach credit for your German class, you’ll get to see the rock musical version of Frank Wedekind’s “Frühlings Erwachen”, a play focusing on the lives of several teenagers that continues to challenge social mores some 100 years after it was first performed (and censored or banned!). The Broadway musical won 11 Tony awards in 2007. You won’t want to miss this opportunity. Contact Prof. Smith today to sign up for the trip. All students are welcome, so don’t forget to get your roommates and friends interested as well.
ECU faculty and staff may also ride on the bus with us, space permitting, but they will need to purchase their tickets directly from Raleigh Little Theatre as the subventions apply only to students. Please contact Prof. David Smith if you are interested in riding with us. Unfortunately, people not employed by ECU are not allowed to ride the bus because of insurance coverage reasons.
