Dr. Frédéric Fladenmuller – 30 years of service to ECU!

Dr. Frédéric Fladenmuller was recognized by Chancellor Staton at a reception on April 12, 2017 to honor his 30 years of dedicated service to ECU. A Professor of French and Francophone Studies, Dr. Fladenmuller was named University Scholar this year, and was presented with the Distinguished Research Award from the FLL Department.  He is academic advisor for Phi Sigma Iota, the foreign languages honor society, and has been honored by the French government as Chevalier (Knight) in the Ordre des Palmes académiques (Order of Academic Palms). He is the author of four research books and a novelHe has been invited to the Sorbonne on two occasions to speak on his work, most recently on Marcel Proust and Virginia Woolf​.
