Information Session, 2019 Summer Study Abroad to St. Petersburg, Russia
Tuesday, September 25th
5:30 pm, 1024 Bate Building
Chase Neese, a senior majoring in biochemistry and minoring in Russian studies, received three scholarships in 2017-18 totaling $6,000, which allowed him to spend the summer studying Russian and communication at Moscow International University and interning at X7 Research, an international pharmaceutical contract research organization.
Through his experience in the Russian workplace, Neese was able to foster intercultural communication skills, sensitivity, and overall awareness demanded by today’s increasingly global job market. He was also able to network with people from all over the world during the FIFA World Cup. Overall, Neese described this trip as one of the most influential experiences of his life and something he will cherish the rest of his life. He is immensely grateful to ECU and the College of Arts and Sciences for the funds to make this trip possible.
