This is one of the voices that helped to start the protests in Egypt–it is a Must See! If you see photographs or news footage you might get the impression that women are not involved–WRONG! See these amazing pictures just out of Egypt since the internet reopened. http://www.kaldasianarts.com/blog/2011/02/02/egypts-largest-pro-democracy-demonstrations-in-history-so-far-february-1st-2011/

Not surprising that foreign journalists are being beaten, according to more tweets from Gamal, NDP purchased thugs at the rate of LE100/head from poor neighborhoods–with the promise of more money if Tahrir cleared. Similar situation in Suez. The pound trades about 5:1, so for $20 you can buy a thug.

This is a great video link to hear first-hand what is happening.
Foreign journalists are getting attacked as well–just as the internet is back up. How is this supposed to win legitimacy for him? Susan Pearce
Unfortunately, I am hearing reports of buildings on fire in Tahrir, gov’t thuggery, dead in the street, etc. I also saw a tweet from civil rights activist Gamal Eid who said in essence that if we hold out another two days til Friday, the dictator will fall–they don’t have another card in their hands! Unfortunately, there will be a lot of blood shed before then.

Fantastic posts. My friend is protesting in Cairo and just posted this: “they are burning tahrir square to evacuate the ppl” and “they are killing people in tahrir square” — Susan Pearce
