What is RIBN?

ECU College of Nursing is pleased to announce RIBN (Regionally Increasing Baccalaureate Nurses), an innovative partnership to provide access to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree to more residents of eastern North Carolina. The partnership provides a 4-year nursing educational experience for select community college students at Pitt Community College, Beaufort County Community College, Lenoir Community College and Roanoke-Chowan Community College.

Students will be concurrently enrolled at ECU and their community college for years 1-3, and then they will enroll fully at ECU for year 4. Students earn both the Associate in Applied Science degree in Nursing (AAS) and Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.

The project is modeled after a similar collaboration between Western Carolina University and AB-Tech in the western part of the state.  The Foundation for Nursing Excellence fund these collaborations with the goal of providing essential nursing resources for eastern North Carolina.

To learn for about the partnership, visit http://www.nursing.ecu.edu/RIBN.htm  or http://www.ffne.org/ribn-project .  Help us spread the word about this exciting new option for undergraduate nursing education in North Carolina!
