Research Description

Highlights of Research:

The current research project investigates beginning elementary teachers’ experiences as participants in a mathematics-specific induction program, LAUNCH into Mathematics Program. The induction program included over 60 hours of mathematics professional development and specialized mentoring across two years. The student researcher will be involved in qualitative and quantitative data organization, management, and analysis as well as dissemination of findings in the project’s social media campaign (website, Facebook, and Twitter).



Requirements: Weekly on campus meetings

Class or level of student sought: Any class

Needed skills:

  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Facebook, Twitter, and WordPress
  • Excellent written & oral communication skill
  • Organization and timeliness


  • IRB training
  • Reliable computer access


Time Commitment 

Time commitment per week: 2-3 hours, depending on project needs
