Portfolios for Review

A portfolio is a collection of items that display the qualifications and experiences of an individual. As a reviewer, you will have access to the portfolios of many students. The Portfolios for Review tab is where you will store, organize, and access all of your students’ portfolios.

I. You can store the portfolios you have access to in folders. This allows you to organize them based on template if you would like.

How to Create a Folder/Have Your Accessible Portfolios Created From a Selected Template Automatically Saved to that Folder:

  1. From the main dashboard, Navigate to the Portfolios for Review tab.
  2. Click the New Folder link, type in the desired name, and Click Add Folder.
  3. Select the folder from the left pane and then Click the Edit Folder link.
  4. Navigate to the Templates tab (Not the main Templates tab, but this tab).
  5. Search through the template folders in the left pane until you find the folder containing the template you want.
  6. Click the Add link next to the template you want.
  7. Navigate back to the General tab and Click Save.

 
II. Deleting a folder is fairly simple. All you need to do is navigate to the Portfolios for Review tab, select the folder you want to delete, and Click the Delete Folder link. With that being said, you CANNOT delete a folder that without moving the portfolios within it to a different folder or without removing your access to the portfolios within the folder.

How to Move Portfolios Between Folders/Remove Access:

Moving Portfolios:

  1. From the main dashboard, Navigate to the Portfolios for Review tab.
  2. Click the Manage Portfolios link.
  3. Make sure that you are in the Move Portfolios tab.
  4. In the Source Folder drop-down box, select the folder that the portfolio(s) is/are in.
  5. In the Destination Folder drop-down box, select the folder that the portfolio(s) is/are going to.
  6. Click the Move>> button.

Removing Access:

  1. From the opening dashboard, Navigate to the Portfolios for Review tab
  2. Click on the folder that contains the portfolio(s) you want to remove.
  3. Click on the Remove Access link next to the portfolio(s).

 
III. Owners can lock their portfolios. What this does is prevents the owner of the portfolio from accessing and changing it. This can be used in order to enforce a deadline on when a portion of the portfolio should be completed. As a reviewer, you can unlock the portfolio when it is necessary to.

How to Unlock a Portfolio:

  1. From the main dashboard, Navigate to the Portfolios for Review tab.
  2. Click the Manage Portfolios link.
  3. Navigate to the Unlock Portfolios tab.
  4. Check the box to the left of the portfolios you want to unlock.
  5. Click the Unlock button.

 
IV. You can also review, provide feedback on, and bookmark a portfolio. These tasks are quite useful when you want to see the progress of your students’ work and be able to comment on their work as well.

How to Review/Provide Feedback On/Bookmark a Portfolio:

Reviewing a Portfolio:

  1. From the main dashboard, Navigate to the Portfolios for Review tab.
  2. Click on the folder containing the portfolio you want to review.
  3. Click on the Review link next to that portfolio.

Providing Feedback on a Portfolio:

  1. From the main dashboard, navigate to the Portfolios for Review tab.
  2. Click on the folder containing the portfolio you wish to review.
  3. Click on the Review link next to that portfolio.
    • If you want to review one item, Click the Feedback [+] link in the bottom right of the item you would like to review. **Note** Feedback may be disabled for specific items via the template that was used. If you want to review the whole portfolio, Click the name of the portfolio at the top of the screen.**
  4. Click Feedback [+].

Bookmarking a Portfolio

  1. From the main dashboard, Click the Portfolios for Review tab in the top navigation bar.
  2. Choose a folder on the left to view the portfolios in that folder.
  3. Once you have found the correct portfolio, click the checkbox in the bookmark column next to the portfolio that you would like to bookmark.
    • This will place the portfolio in the Bookmarks folder automatically. You can also bookmark portfolios that you have found using the search feature. Bookmarked portfolios can be brought to the top of the list by clicking the Bookmark column heading and sorting by the bookmarked portfolios.
