Dr. Kerbs is a multi-discipinary mixed-method social scientist with graduate-level training in gerontology, social work, and sociology. He currently instructs in the Department of Criminal Justice at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. His work has been published in various disciplines to include criminal justice, criminology, law, medicine, psychology, and sociology. Most of his research examines issues of importance to the juvenile and criminal justice systems (e.g., victimology studies as applied to school- and prison-based safety); he also has expertise in juvenile court abolition debates and substance abuse treatment as applied to multi-problem, chemically-dependent offenders who are relapse prone.
