PEER TUTOR APPLICATION

Students who are interested in becoming a peer tutor for JUST3900 will be required to complete an application for the Pirate Tutoring Center.  To qualify as a peer tutor for this course, you must meet the following criteria: 
     [ ] 1) You must have a minimum GPA of 3.00.
     [ ] 2) You must successfully complete a minimum of 30 semester hours at ECU.
     [ ] 3) You must be a full-time student enrolled in at least 12 semester hours of
               coursework.
     [ ] 4) You must have an “A” for the term in JUST3900.
     [ ] 5) You must have excellent communication skills and be able to work with student
               from diverse backgrounds and skill levels.  Previous tutoring experience is
               valued, but not required.
     [ ] 6) You must have one letter of recommendation from Dr. Kerbs (other letters of
               recommendation are not required for this application).
     [ ] 7) You must complete the application that can be found using the following link:

     [ ] 8) You must submit the application to Dr. Kerbs, who will then submit it to the PTC
                after the letter of recommendation is completed (remember that you only need
                one letter).

If students wish to return as peer tutors after an initial appointment to the PTC, they need to complete an additional application for reappointment for each new academic year, but they are not required to submit new letters of recommendation.  The application for reappointments as peer tutors can be found using the following link:
