Welcome to Dr. Sua

The Department of Library Science is pleased to welcome Dr. Lou Saunders Sua as a Teaching Assistant Professor.   Dr. Sua has been in librarianship for 35 years.  She has worked in public, academic and schools libraries.  She has also worked in the non-profit arena and as a Children’s librarian, Young Adult librarian, Family Literacy coordinator, and the Branch Manager of a lifelong learning center.  Her work in libraries has given her the opportunity to develop, implement, and present programs for adults, children, young adults, parents, teachers and communities.   She also has experience as an Adjunct Faculty at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro teaching storytelling and The Public Library courses.

Dr. Sua’s Ph.D. research involved listening to the life stories of Black women who are activists.  Their stories validated her work in the community and her work as a librarian.
