Does phenytoin have a special anti epileptic effect in patients with hyponatremia?

Thanks.

Turns out that phenytoin actually suppresses pituitary release of ADH through a calcium-related mechanism. That's probably why phenytoin is a better anti epileptic agent in huponatremic seizure patients.
