it's clear to avoid gadolinium in esrd due to risk for NSF, my question is for ckd, at what GFR do we say no to contrast? Tnx

Great question. Studies are not great but the general consensus is that gad should be avoided in ckd 4 and 5 ( gfr<30 cc/min). Also, gad dose makes a difference too (try to use less than 0.4 mmol per kg if the MRI is absolutely needed).
