You are probably seeing a commercial about joining a lawsuit involving these 2 compounds. Both granuflo and naturalyte are produced by Fresenius, which is the largest commercial dialysis provider in America. Both compounds are used to alkalinize the dialysate.

Problems have arisen with over alkalanization. Severe metabolic alkalosis can result, which itself can cause a low blood pressure, but can also cause symptomatic hypokalemia --> arrhythmias --> sudden cardiac death.
