Comics come up short with election
ECU political science professor Jody Baumgartner said that the 2012 presidential election provides less fodder for comedy than the election in 2008. An expert on the influence of comedy on U.S. politics, Baumgartner was quoted in the Vancouver Sun. “There’s less raw material to work with in terms of the targets of the jokes,” he said. High profile visitors in eastern North Carolina
ECU political science professor Carmine Scavo was featured in a Sept. 27 Daily Reflector article titled, “Eastern N.C. draws high profile visitors.” Scavo spoke regarding the attention the state has received as a swing state in the presidential election.
