Summer Science Camp Counselors

The Mathematics and Science Education Department at East Carolina University is searching for qualified candidates to work as counselors at our Summer Science Camp. This camp will provide candidates with an opportunity to expose students from 2nd to 8thgrade to the exciting subject of science. Candidates will be trained by professionals from Morehead Planetarium and experienced counselors in the camp topics as well as instructional strategies for teaching hands-on science.

Benefits of being a counselor for the ECU’s Summer Science Camp include:

  • Experience in working with students in the area of science.
  • Learn more about physical science, life science topics and how to provide instruction in this subject through a hands-on approach.
  • Work with science professionals from Morehead Planetarium as well as other science professionals in Eastern North Carolina.
  • Receive pay for teaching the camp sessions.

Tentative Training Dates:  May 18th-May 22nd

How to Apply

Are you an Elementary or Secondary Science Education major looking for a paid service-learning experience this summer? Complete the Instructor Application Form and return it to Mrs. Tammy D. Lee by March 20th to apply for a position as a Summer Science Camp counselor.

If you are interested in working as a volunteer for any portion of the Summer Science Camp, complete the Volunteer Application Form and return to the Assistant Director Blair Driver by April 1st.
