Univ. of North Texas- Journalism Workshop- Deadline Sept. 11- Scholarships available

MediaShift is producing our fifth Journalism School Hackathon Oct. 20-22, co-produced by the Mayborn School of Journalism at the University of North Texas (near Dallas-Fort Worth). We’re convening a group of top students (graduates and undergraduates), faculty and professionals for the weekend Hackathon, with a real-world mission of creating startups in the sports and health areas. Students will have a chance to collaborate on diverse teams of students with faculty and pro facilitators. No coding skills necessary!

We create teams of students from participating schools at the event. However, we would like to encourage and work with any schools interested in sending groups of their students to this fantastic entrepreneurial training.

Students unsure if they can afford the travel costs? We offer up to $500 in Travel Scholarships to help! Here is the link to the application, which is due Sept. 11.

We’ll send out more information about our lineup of guest speakers at the event as it draws closer.

Make sure you register yourself, students or a group! Early Bird tickets start at just$49 (ending Sept. 11).

As always, if you have any questions or want to reach out about sending a group, please email me at mark@mediashift.org. We make every effort to help anyone attend who has financial difficulty.

Hope to see you in Texas in October!
