Staff Senate Boarding Crew – Recap

Filed under: Uncategorized — Mary Schiller @ 1:39 pm

This morning, our Staff Senate Boarding Crew was in full action, moving many students in.  We couldn’t have asked for better weather, it was much cooler than it has been lately and there was NO RAIN!  I thought for sure we were all going to be soaked before we were done.

Here we are, all anxious to get started.  We were originally assigned Jarvis Resident Hall however we found out all the students had already moved in, which was no big deal, because we were quickly diverted to Fletcher.

It didn’t take us long to find people that needed help once we got to Fletcher.  Jeff was in high demand and was showing off his awesome multitasking skills all day!

In this picture, Jeff is breaking down a box, stabilizing it with his foot, cutting the bottom tape, AND holding his drink bottle in his mouth!

Here’s another one, where he is chatting with the family, pushing the moving cart AND trimming the bushes :) all at the same time.

All three of us had a really good time.  We got to meet and help a lot of families, who were all very appreciative (and I think a little surprised).  I personally smiled and laughed so much my face was beginning to hurt a little.  I don’t think I’ve ever had as much fun helping people move before!

If you have never participated in the Pirate Boarding Crews before, you really should.  It was amazing to see the look on the faces of the moms and dads when we offered our help and assured them it was FREE :)  Help is needed for the remainder of today, as well as tomorrow and Sunday.  If you want to get in on the action, just check-in and pick up a t-shirt at the White Residence Hall Computer Lab.

Kudos to Student Living and all the staff who helped plan and execute this move in event!  Everything went VERY smoothly and we heard a lot of people commenting on how easy everything was.  GREAT JOB!!!

Hope you all have a terrific weekend!
