ECU Needs To Show We Have A Heart For People – Volunteer Today!

Filed under: Uncategorized — Sherry Bingham @ 6:32 am

Marian Wright Edelman once said, “We must serve consciously as caring role models, emphasizing the ethic of service, not consumption.” Truer words were never spoken.  Our ECU personnel needs to show that we are role models for our future generations.

February has been declared as a month of service by the UNC Staff Assembly. The focus is on service to our campus and local community. This is a great time to use some of the allotted 24 hours of community service leave we are granted each year. Get involved and volunteer!

Volunteer opportunities:

Other organizations may qualify for you to use your community service leave.  The guidelines are listed in the State Human Resource Manual: Community Service Leave section.

Winston Churchill once said, “We make a living by what we GET, but we make a life by what we GIVE”. Give of your time today, make a difference in our community, and show that ECU cares!
