My name is Louis Joseph Cameron III and I am a sophomore, majoring in Philosophy with a minor in Political Science. When I graduate, I plan to attend graduate school to get a Master’s degree in Higher Education/Student Affairs. I’d like to return to ECU and work in one of the various Student Affairs departments.
The main thing I love about ECU offers a lot of different organizations and activities on campus that you can get involved in. An organization that keeps me VERY busy is Student Government Association. In this, I’m the Undergraduate Senator for the College of Arts and Sciences. My job is to write bills and resolutions for the senate to improve student life. Being in SGA has allowed me to work with student leaders, interact with the ECU community, and network with professionals and administrators on campus. In doing this, I’m able to make friends, create more opportunities that will better the school, and provide my service to the school and learn about working in the college environment.
For future and current students at ECU, I think it’s important to know that college isn’t just about the degree. It’s also about meeting people and preparing for your life after graduation. There are many different opportunities available to students that will help your career and your life. In my opinion, if you do things in college the “right” way, you’ll have one of the best times of your life!
