King Louie Is Back!!! It Has Been A While!

HELLO EVERYONE!!! I hope you’ve all been well.

I apologize for my “sabbatical” from posting blogs up here. This year has definitely been a busy and stressful one, but also one filled of excitement and new opportunities. So I thought I’d let you in on what’s been happening lately.

Last semester, nothing TOO big or extraordinary. Blew it out of the water by making a 3.7 GPA for that semester, so I was definitely ecstatic about that! Oh, also during Winter Break, I took a quick trip over to Italy for a few days. Flew into Naples, and then I took a train to Rome! It was so amazing, beautiful structures and the food was awesome. And I had an authentic cannoli; I definitely felt like I was in the Godfather!

Ooh! Me being the traveler that I am, I went up to Boston with my cousin in January. Thankfully, that is also where my best friend of 13 years lives. And we hadn’t seen each other in about 6 years. It was such a heartwarming reunion. We met in the 3rd grade when we lived in Gaithersburg, MD and we’ve been friends ever since. It was so good to see her, her mom and their dog! Also, Boston is SO BEAUTIFUL! I love the city life up north. To me it was almost like a smaller New York City, but also ridiculously clean! Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE NYC, but Boston was cleaner! Haha! So many different cultures, had my first bowl of New England Clam Chowder and bought a Michael Kors watch! I wouldn’t mind living there!

Check out my pics from Italy and Boston at the bottom!

This semester has been different, in terms of the rigor from my classes or the amount of work that I have. I guess it’s not so much that the classes are hard, but I had like 6 or 7 tests/papers/assignments ALL HAPPEN IN THE SAME WEEK! Shucks, talk about me wanting to trip myself down the stairs! (lol, just kidding) So I’m glad that this week did come to an end and I made it through it all, regardless of what my grades will be (keeping my fingers crossed, HAHA!) But I realized even more about how important it is to manage time well and start assignments early. This is my fourth year in college, and I still haven’t mastered the art of NOT procrastinating. But I am getting better :) And even though this week is over, there is still ONE more week that I have a lot of stuff due. My teachers would plot to try and defeat me the week before Spring Break! But like anything else, I’ll face it and get through. I also think that’s an important thing that I want to share: sometimes the most important thing to do is JUST MAKE IT THROUGH! Of course do your best, but just get through it and get it out of the way so you’re not stuck in it.

By the way, with mentioning Spring Break–in my next blog, I’ll share with you all my plans for Spring Break and other awesome things that I have coming my way in the future!!! Once again, I apologize for my absence in posting here, but I am back and ready to share my life and what is like being a college student sometimes here at the great school of East Carolina University, home of Pirate Nation!
