Today is an event that many students look forward to all semester long, Barefoot on the Mall. Barefoot on the Mall is held at the end of the Spring Semester by the Student Activities Board to celebrate the end of the school year. All sorts of different organizations from around ECU come to set up tables on the mall and hand out free goodies to students. I know that over the years I have collected quite a few free tee-shirts from Barefoot. Barefoot on the Mall also features several musical performances from local Greenville bands and each year they feature a famous musician. This year’s special performer is Lauren Alaina, who you may remember competed against Scotty McCreery in American Idol and is now a well known country singer. In years past Barefoot on the Mall has featured, New Boyz, Cartel and Jason Derulo.

This week is also our last full week of classes, with only classes on Monday and Tuesday of next week. I have been especially busy these last days of classes, since as a senior I’m working on a lot of final projects for my capstone classes. Then before I know it it will be time to prepare for finals.

My past four years spent at ECU have been some of the best years of my life so far, and I can’t believe how fast they’ve gone by. It’s also hard to believe that this is the last time I will be attending classes and taking finals, but I am still excited to graduate and see what opportunities lie ahead of me!
