It’s already June 6th?!?! The spring semester has been finished for about a month now. This is my fifth summer in Greenville, and it’s already off to a great start! I’m not enrolled in any summer courses this semester, so I’ve been enjoying all my extra free time by working on campus in the College of Business Graduate Office as a Graduate Assistant. After work you can usually find me relaxing outside my apartment, chatting with my neighbors, and catching up on some of my favorite TV shows and movies on Netflix. Many of my friends also stay in Greenville for the summer, so I spend some of my free time with them as well.
I know what you’re thinking- I’ve been pretty lazy this summer, but rest assured, I’ve gone on a few adventures as well. I spent my first weekend of the summer back in Bunn, NC to visit my parents and in Chapel Hill to proudly watch my little sister graduate from UNC. I spent my Memorial Day weekend at a campground in Virginia Beach with a few friends and their families and had a wonderful first-time camping experience! I also plan on making at least one trip to Topsail Island before the summer is over; I grew up going here every summer and this place is definitely my favorite beach.
In a few weeks I will be traveling throughout various parts of the state to attend a few Freshman Sendoffs with the ECU Ambassadors. In June I will be visiting Morehead City and Fayetteville, and I will be going to the Freshman Sendoff right here in Greenville as well. I can’t wait to meet all the future Pirates from Eastern NC! Freshman Sendoffs are kind of like a precursor to New Student Orientation; it’s a great way to learn more about ECU before starting school.
Speaking of New Student Orientation, the first session begins June 12. It’s been a little too quiet on campus, even though many students here are busy with summer classes. I’m looking forward to seeing all the new Pirates visiting campus this summer and getting acclimated to ECU!
I hope that everyone is having a great summer so far! Until next time, Go Pirates! Aaargh!
