As an upcoming ECU graduate, I am (hopefully 🙂 ) writing from your future! I have just returned to campus for my final semester as a Pirate and it is very bittersweet. (I am sure you can relate with your upcoming high school graduations, Congrats!) I came to East Carolina in the fall of 2010 from a small town in Connecticut. As you may imagine, it was quite the culture shock. The warmth of the community welcomed me and immediately opened me up to new experiences I would have never dreamed of. I instantly fell in love with the beautiful campus and the exciting atmosphere ECU offers. Walking around campus, I have been reminiscing about all of the wonderful memories I have had at ECU, from my first Pirate Palooza where I met two of my best friends to my first ECU football game, and I am excited to have the opportunity to blog and share these memories with all of you!
Although you will only be reading my writing, I hope you feel like you really get to know me in the upcoming weeks. I am a Pirate for life and love meeting new students. I hope you will let me lead you to making the best decision of your life and attending ECU! (I am a little bit biased, but I promise, attending ECU was the best decision I have ever made.)
A little bit about me, I will be graduating in May with a Bachelors of Business Administration in Finance, an English minor, and Certificate of Business and Technical Communication. (And, yes! I did it in only 4 years- parents like to know that it’s possible.) I will let you in on a little secret about me, I still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up. (Don’t worry its normal if you don’t, and if you do that’s great!) I am a member of many organizations on campus, two of my favorites being: the Student Pirate Club (part of the reason I came to ECU was for the university’s passion for athletics) and Gamma Sigma Sigma National Service Sorority. I attend many on-campus events, athletic events, and I really enjoy doing community service, so these will be some of the things you will be reading about. I also love fashion and pop culture, so you can expect some of these topics infused into my blog posts.
I am excited to be your liaison to the university!
