Show me the Money!

Going to college can be a scary thing, especially when it comes to paying for it. But never fear, opportunity is here. At East Carolina University we want everyone to succeed and are willing to go above and beyond to help any student, or prospective student, in any way possible.

To start off, everyone should file a Federal Application for Federal Student Aid or FAFSA. rightwrongBe mindful of the link you go to. There is only ONE official website. Once your FAFSA is complete it will be processed and based on your application is what determines your financial need.

After completing your FAFSA it would behoove you to take a look at our Scholoarships web page. You can find hundreds of different Scholarship opportunities to help with the financial aspect of college.

CFNCCheck out the CFNC website as well. They have a lot of helpful tips on helping pay for college as well as a list of scholarships and grants you can apply for. They also have a great glossary to help you all understand those tricky financial terms. Knowledge is power!

So you’ve filed your FAFSA and have applied for what feels like 1000 different scholarships.¬† Next take a look at our financial aid office web page. This is a page everyone should become familiar with while here at ECU. The financial aid office can be your best friend when trying to figure out any loan processes. They are extremely knowledgeable when it comes to financial planning for school and will definitely be able to answer any questions you have about paying for college.

Always remember, be aware of the websites you go to when filling out applications for scholarships or any financial aid.

P.S. The application for Fall 2015 opens up at the end of August. You can submit an application  as soon as then to be considered for the 2015 school year. GO PIRATES!
