Meet our newest blogger: Jennifer Hines
Hello Pirate Nation! My name is Jennifer Hines and I am headed into my senior year as a communication major with a concentration in journalism. I was born and bred in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. Eastern North Carolina has been my home for my entire life. I fell in love with East Carolina University not only because it was close to home, but because the energy on campus was electric. With so much school spirit and pride, the feeling of belonging at ECU was infectious. The amazing communication program was just a bonus!
I love being involved on campus here at ECU. I am an Arts and Entertainment reporter for The East Carolinian, the student newspaper. I love writing movie reviews and talking to local movie, television, and theater enthusiasts. Through The East Carolinian and other on-campus activities, I have made dozens of friends, started networking, and done my part in spreading that infectious school spirit. Let me just say, if you have never been to an ECU football game, you need to.
I want to spread the love that I have for ECU and my major. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at ECU and I hate to see my time here near its end with my senior year on the horizon. But, I cannot wait to share all that I have learned here with the world. I love writing and I love telling a story. That’s how I ended up as the new marketing intern for the admissions office. This is just the first step on my way to writing for famous magazines and having my own Travel Channel show. ECU is a huge part of my journey and I want to help make it a part of others’ journey as well. After all, once a pirate, always a pirate!
