Parents’ Weekend is Just Ahead!

This upcoming weekend is one every student has been looking forward to- Parents’ weekend! Tons of parents come down to ECU for a weekend full of fun events and activities. With a football game and plenty of family-filled activities on and off-campus, it’s a great time to welcome your parents to your new home!

My family and I in Aruba this past summer!

I’m thrilled that my parents will be joining my brother and I for Parents’ weekend. As a family, we are all really close and love doing everything together. My parents are coming down on Friday, and we will be heading to Winslow’s for a nice dinner and maybe watch a good movie at Hendrix afterwards (they had free popcorn last year…yum!). On Saturday, we are joining my brother and his fraternity, Sig Tau Gamma, at their tailgate. Afterwards, of course, we can’t miss out on the game as ECU takes on the USF Bulls!

On Sunday, we will be winding down with a trip to Little Washington (it’s only 30 minutes away from Greenville). As a senior, I’m a little sad that it’s taken me this long to check out this cute little town! However, I’m excited to finally explore Little Washington, and I hope I can get some ice cream on the boardwalk. 🙂

But the best part about Parents’ weekend is spending quality time with your family. It’s normal to get homesick every now and then, but Parents’ weekend is a great way to bring the family back together! Oh, by the way, if you haven’t heard this advice yet- call your mom every day. Seriously…she misses you like crazy when you’re gone. Your dad, too.

The whole family (can’t forget my dog, Coco) for my brother’s high school graduation!

I hope everyone has a great Parents’ weekend with their families! If you are not a student here yet, I highly encourage you to have your parents come down for when you are one. It’s a great way to show off ECU’s beautiful campus to your family. 🙂 When they see how happy you are at ECU, they’ll know you made the right choice to come here.

Thanks for reading, and have a great rest of your week!
