Warmest congratulations to Amanda Woods for successfully defending her thesis “INDIGENOUS IDENTITY, ORAL TRADITION, AND THE LAND IN THE POETRY OF OODGEROO, LUCI TAPAHONSO, AND HAUNANI-KAY TRASK.” Amanda is living and working in Japan, and it was remarkable having a three-way video-conference between two locations in NC and Japan as we discussed the work of these “fourth world” poets.
