This week’s tip comes in the form of an update. We are expanding the pilot group into the summer semester. If you would like to continue using Tegrity we’ll need to activate the Tegrity Classes link in your summer course(s). Please reply to this email with the course ID so that we can add it to the activation list. We certainly understand how busy you may be at this time so we’ll probably send out another reminder next week.

You can very easily MOVE or COPY a Tegrity video from one course to another through the Tegrity Home Page. The Move and Copy options are located under the Choose an Action menu.

1. Select a video that you’d like to Move or Copy.

2. Select Move or Copy from the Choose an Action drop-down menu.

3. Select a course from the list that you would like to Move or Copy to.

*Make sure that the Tegrity Classes link has been activated in the Blackboard course that you’re moving or copying to.

This week’s tip is on “Supporting Files”. Tegrity gives you the ability to add supplementary content to your recordings such as an MS Word document or PDF file. When students access your Tegrity recordings they will also be able to download any files that you’ve uploaded under the Additional Content tab.

To upload supporting files, go to the Actions menu, and under Additional Content choose Upload File.

In this week’s tip we wanted to share with you an example of how other instructors are using Tegrity to connect students to course content. In the first sample video at this website, Lee Gibson, a University of Louisville Calculus instructor, is recording a class in Tegrity. The students are able to see everything the instructor taught using a software graphing program on his tablet PC.   http://www.tegrity.com/showcase

This week’s tip is on “Adding Annotations”. The expanded toolbar displays annotation controls available for use while recording. To add annotations, you simply click on the toolbar.

There are several different options to choose from. For example, the Annotation Pen enables you to select what you draw as you move your cursor. You can even use the rectangle tool as a yellow highlighter to point out important information during the recording

This week’s tip is on Tegrity’s “Search Anything” technology which allows users to search for and review the exact content they need. When a key term is searched for, Tegrity shows every lecture, down to the very slide, that contains the term searched for. Students save valuable time by finding the exact information that they need without having to flip through notebooks. A search can be made through all courses containing lectures or specific lecture recordings.

This week’s tip is on the “Tegrity Mobile App”. Did you know that your students can view your Tegrity recordings on their iPad, iPhone, or Android device? Not only can students view recordings, but they can also add live bookmarks during class. Tegrity streams content to the Tegrity Mobile App over the air, so there’s no need for a student to first connect to a computer in order to download content. Welcome to our Tegrity Tuesday Newsletter!

It’s Spring Break, so we figured we’d kick off our first installment with some brief information about what we plan on including in the newsletter from week to week. Our main goal is to keep you up to date on the latest news regarding Tegrity. We’ll also use this platform to introduce and highlight some of Tegrity’s many features. Currently we have resources available on the Tegrity Blog and we’ve created a Yammer group as well. Please take a look at these sites and let us know what you think.

This week we’d like to feature the “Get Class Link” option, which allows you to create a link to an individual Tegrity recording. After you create this link you have a number of different options on how to provide access within your Blackboard course. Take a look at the PDF link on our Blog to learn more.
