How to change Site Title:
- Login to WordPress using your ECU Pirate ID and your ECU Password from the following URL: http://blog.ecu.edu/sites .
- Click the “Dashboard” Dropdown button.
- Then click on “My Sites.”
- Now identify the site you would like to edit and click on the “Dashboard” link below the site name that you wish to make changes too.
- Locate and click on “Settings” found at the bottom of the left hand page.
- This will bring you to the “General Settings” page.
- In the “Site Title” box, you can change the name of the blog.
- Once finished scroll to the bottom and click “Save Changes.”
How to Direct your Front Page to another Page:
- Login to WordPress using your ECU Pirate ID and your ECU Password from the following URL: http://blog.ecu.edu/sites .
- Click the “Dashboard” Dropdown button.
- Then click on “My Sites.”
- Now identify the site you would like to edit and click on the “Dashboard” link below the site name that needs changes.
- Locate the “Settings” drop down pane at the bottom of the left hand corner panel.
- Click on “Settings“
- Under the drop down pane for settings click on the sub-category “Reading“
- This will bring you to the page for “Reading Settings“
- Under the section for “Front Page Displays“, click on the check box (bubble) for “A static page“
- Use the drop down box to choose which page you would like to use as your homepage.
- Remember to scroll to the bottom of the page and click “Save Changes“
How to Change Discussion Settings
These settings deal with comments, emails received from comments, and comment moderation/blacklist, etc.
- Login to WordPress using your ECU Pirate ID and your ECU Password from the following URL: http://blog.ecu.edu/sites .
- Click the “Dashboard” Dropdown button.
- Then click on “My Sites.”
- Now identify the site you would like to edit and click on the “Dashboard” link below the site name that needs changes.
- Locate the “Settings” menu located at the bottom of the left hand panel.
- Click “Settings” to enable the drop down menu.
- Click “Discussion.”
- This will bring you to a page that will have a series of check boxes and categories. Choose which setting you would like enabled or disabled.
- Be sure to read what each setting references.
- You may enable/disable setting by clicking the check box.
- Remember to save by scrolling to the bottom of the page. Click “Save Changes.”
How to Change the Privacy Settings
This is in reference to site availability.
- Login to WordPress using your ECU Pirate ID and your ECU Password from the following URL: http://blog.ecu.edu/sites .
- Click the “Dashboard” Dropdown button.
- Then click on “My Sites.”
- Now identify the site you would like to edit and click on the “Dashboard” link below the site name that needs changes.
- Locate the “Settings” menu located at the bottom of the left-hand panel.
- Click “Settings” to enable the drop down menu.
- Click “Privacy.”
- This will bring you to the Privacy Settings menu page.
- There will be a list of 5 different privacy options to choose from. Read the instructions carefully and choose the best option for your blog preference.
- Select that option and click “Save Changes.”
How to Change the Maximum Size of Embedded Video/Media/Images
- Login to WordPress using your ECU Pirate ID and your ECU Password from the following URL: http://blog.ecu.edu/sites .
- Click the “Dashboard” Dropdown button.
- Then click on “My Sites.”
- Now identify the site you would like to edit and click on the “Dashboard” link below the site name that needs changes.
- Locate the “Settings” menu located at the bottom of the left hand panel.
- Click “Settings” to enable the drop down menu.
- Click “Media.”
- This will bring you to the “Media Settings” menu.
- Under the first category (Image Size) here you will be able to adjust the dimensions in pixels of the size of the images you wish to upload.
- Next, by using the category “Embeds,” you will also be able to change the size of videos such as from Flickr or YouTube.
- Remember to save by clicking “Save Changes.“
