We are trying to understand the temporal and spatial factors that might influence how the auditory nerve responds to electrical stimulation with a cochlear implant. Our goal is to estimate the neural response patterns using psychophysical behavioral measures.
We also try to understand if the variation in speech recognition performance among cochlear implant users can be explained by the various psychophysical measures that indirectly reflect the neural response patterns evoked electrically.
Optimization of Stimulation
We aim to find clinically applicable time efficient ways to evaluate each implanted individual and determine whether outcomes may be improved by customizing stimulation strategies for each individual.
