Support the ECU Lab School this Holiday Season

  As the Holidays quickly approach many of us start thinking about how we can help our neighbors in need. A CRITICAL need has arisen at the ECU Lab School. We need a small emergency clothing closet and toiletry pantry for our students. Clothing needs include shirts, pants, underwear, and socks. Many of our students also need warm coats and shoes. ECU Lab School Advisory Council Meets for First Time

The inaugural meeting of the East Carolina University Lab School Advisory Council was held Thursday, Aug. 10, inside the ECU College of Education Speight Building. The advisory council consists of representatives from the College of Education, the ECU Office of the Provost and Senior Vice Chancellor, and Pitt County Schools. College of Education LLC Spearheading Lab School Supply Drive

The East Carolina University College of Education Living-Learning Community is hosting a school supply drive to benefit our new ECU Lab School scholars. 
The goal is to provide a new supply-filled backpack to each student. ECU Lab School to Host New Student Orientation and Picnic

The East Carolina University Lab School will host a new student orientation and picnic Saturday, July 29, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the South Greenville Recreation Center. Lab School students and their families will have a chance to meet the school’s staff, faculty and administration at the orientation, and ask questions about the upcoming school year. Pirate Principal: ECU Lab School Leader Named

Tasha Rodriguez has been named principal of the East Carolina University Laboratory School, which will open this fall at South Greenville Elementary School. Rodriguez’s appointment is effective May 8. ECU to create laboratory school with Pitt County Schools

East Carolina University is one of eight UNC system schools identified to create and operate a laboratory school to help under-achieving elementary students perform better. UNC President Margaret Spellings announced Nov. 1 that ECU along with Appalachian State University, North Carolina Central University, UNC-Charlotte, UNC-Greensboro, UNC-Pembroke, UNC-Wilmington and Western Carolina University are candidates to establish and operate laboratory schools.
