The Communication Equity and Outcomes Lab (CEO) was established to engage in research designed to understand outcomes associated with adult neurologically based disorders of communication and factors that contribute to the lack of equity in service provision and outcome disparities that exist among some population groups.

CEO projects emphasize:

  1. Outcomes associated with neurologically based disorders of communication.
  2. Economic issues associated with neurologically-based disorders of communication disorders; specifically the costs and cost-effectiveness of speech-language pathology interventions.
  3. Health-related disparities that occur among those with neurological disorders are not specifically due to race or ethnicity but indirectly associated factors such as access to care, availability of care, socioeconomic status (SES), insurance, belief systems and resource utilization.

The CEO Lab collaborates with: Speech-Language Pathologists, Neurologists, Occupational Therapists, Health Economists and Health Services Researchers.
