Congratulations to ECU’s Volleyball team for receiving the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award. The award, which was initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale.

Congratulations to Kimberly “Kimmy” Cummings for receiving the C-USA Jim Castañeda Postgraduate Scholarship Award announced on June 13, 2012. Kimmy graduated summa cum laude in May with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Management, Marketing, and Management Information Systems. ECU Football players: Matt Milner, Torrance Hunt, Kyle Tudor, and Daniel Drake helped celebrate the end of the school year with the students of South Greenville Elementary. They tossed around the football and raced against a few lucky students in an obstacle course. The field day was a great way to end the school year for those students.

On Friday, June 1st, ECU football players along with Coach McNeil and the football coaching staff volunteered and participated in the 3rd Annual Mac Attack Golf Tournament presented by the Greenville Junior Women’s Association held at Brook Valley Country Club. The tournament benefits the Ronald McDonald House Charities in Eastern North Carolina. The players helped setup and monitored the longest shot and pay to play holes. Despite a few rain showers, it was a great day of golf for a wonderful cause.
