2 Baseball Players Helping Out Ronald McDonald

“On Friday, August 19, the Ronald McDonald House of Eastern North Carolina received a donation of 31 mattress sets from Tempur-Pedic North America, LLC and looked to the community for help. 54 men and women from Eastern North Carolina answered the call, including Ronald McDonald, himself, and friends, Hamburglar and Birdie.” Acree, Erin. “54 Volunteers Help Make Ronald McDonald House a Home.” August 2011.
Of those 54 volunteers, two ECU baseball players, sophomore, Philip Clark and junior, Tyler Joyner participated in moving in the mattress sets and assembling them into the rooms. “We want to give back to the community that supports us…everyone knows we have the best fans in college sports,” said Joyner to members of the media.

Families of seriously ill or injured children receiving treatment at area medical facilities need a feeling of security during trying times.
